How to do a Rope Braid

Before you Begin
Make sure hair is clean, free of tangles, and long enough to stay in the braid. If the hair is too short or too layered it will fall out of the braid.
This braid uses only two sections of hair, so you now have your base. Twisting the individual sections clockwise, then wrapping the two sections around each other counterclockwise is the entire method of creating this braid.

Step By Step
Take a section of hair from the temples back to the crown in a pony tail shape and hold it in a loose fist. Bisect it by running your index finger of the other hand from the base of the ponytail to the end, sliding both hands down the ponytail together.
When you reach the end of the hair, hold the right section in the right hand, and the left section in the left. You now have your base. Twist each section clockwise, keeping the right section in the right hand, and the left section in the left hand. Twist one to two times.
Now wrap the twisted sections around each other once counterclockwise. This clockwise/counterclockwise action creates the rope, and hold of the braid. The section that began on the right is now on the left, and vice versa.
Pull in a section of hair from the right side from the front towards the braid. Add it to the section now on the right by twisting all the hair on the right clockwise.
Repeat this for the left side; pull in a section of hair from the left side from the front towards the braid. Add it to the section on the left by twisting all the hair on the left clockwise.
Now wrap both sections around each other once counterclockwise.
Repeat steps 4, 5, and 6 until you get to the nape of the neck.
Once all the hair is pulled in, you will have just the two sections at the nape.
Continue to twist them clockwise and wrap them counterclockwise until you get to the end of the hair.
Secure the braid with a hair band, or tuck it under into the nape and bobby-pin it into place.

Your model needs a shave. And a haircut.
