entertainmentHow to Shuffle Cards

Before you Begin
There are several different methods to shuffling cards. To get the deck the most shuffled, it is best to use a mixture of these methods. While the temptation to just drop the deck into a blender and hit "Puree" is understandable, with a little practice shuffling can be just as easy.

Step By Step
Hold the deck in one hand and toss a few cards off the top of the deck into the other hand. Repeat until the deck has moved entirely to the other hand.
After doing that for a bit, split the deck into two approximately even piles. Placing the two halves end to end, lift the ends facing each other with your thumbs. Let the cards fall down, alternating between the two piles, one after another.
Or when you have finished push the two decks together so they are one. To reverse the bend in the cards and combine the two halves, you can add a move called the bridge. It looks fancy, but is easy to learn. After Step 2, place your thumbs over the interlaced portion of the cards. Create a bridge-shape with the cards by applying pressure to the outside ends of the two halves and bending the center up. Keep those thumbs on the interlaced portion, or you'll be playing 52 Pickup! You'll feel the cards wanting to mix together, so let them do so by releasing some of the pressure from the bottom of the deck. They should flutter together from the bottom to the top as the pressure eases.
